I bought this truck new in 94 (F150 XL, 2wd 300cu in 6cyl)put 175,000 miles of work on this truck and just burnt up the transmission. Went to the junkyard bought the transmission from a 1995 F150 XL with a V8 installed the transmission (worked fine in the other truck as I road tested it) After installing the transmission the truck is in the overdrive gear (doesn't shift thru the gears) However you can shift the truck manually. Can I fix this, seems like an electrical control issue.

I know the gearing is different in the V8 opposed to the 6.

The only other thin I can think of is the solenoid pack on the valve body is different.

You said it worked ok in the donor truck?
