The truck set for 4 years I drained gas tank put new fuel pump, new filter, and plugs. It starts right up idles fine, but when you put it in gear it just bogs down. Somebody told me it's ignition module. I'm stumped. Please help!

Good morning,

It sounds like you may still have some issues with the fuel.

The injectors may need to be replaced as all that old fuel was in them and they may be carboned up.

This could be an ignition issue but due to it sitting so long I suspect you still have a fuel issue. Basically when you put the vehicle in gear it is adding a load to the engine and if the fuel is not sufficient it will bog down.

Sounds like you got the majority of the fuel system but we don't know what is in the injectors.

If it were me, I would at least attempt to clean the injectors out with the procedure attached and if they are okay, we can dig into the ignition system. I attached that info as well in case we need it.

Let me know what you find with this and we can go from there. Thanks
