I post the same question on here last week, but was told it was the charcoal cylinder for the fumes coming from my gasoline tank. This time I`ve included a photo of what I`m talking about.....no mistakes.[img:e66825300d]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/162773_S10_Vacumn_sperical_like_Ball_2.jpg[/img:e66825300d]

Could someone please tell me how to hook this little ball up, what it does, and where the lines go "to" and "from". My place where I get all my parts from tells me that it belongs to a 1988 S-10/2.5 engine, but he does not know anything else. The engine has all been redone, so there is no evidence of any daggling hoses to give me a clue. Thanks.

That is your A/C reserve vacuum tank, it supplies vacuum to a/c heat controls, so when you accelerate, and loose vacuum, the a/c or heat controls stay wrer you direct them, instead of all defaulting to defrost vents...one line should be to manifold vac, the oter to the black vac line that goes into the firewall to the heat controls...

ok. much better description. that is a vacuum reservoir tank. the vacuum hose that goes to it should be coming from a one way check valve that has 3 hoses connected to it. the easiest way for me to describe where the vacuum hose is, look for the vacuum line that goes into the cab of truck(this controls the vacuum to the heater doors) the vacuum reservoir should at some point be connected to this vacuum line. hope this helps
