I was driving one afternoon, and the car slowly lost power within a few miles and sputtered out. When trying to start back up, nothing will turn over, but all lights and etc work so im sure its not the battery. Also, about a year or so ago, while driving the car suddenly started kinda puttering like a cylinder wasnt working at all. Seemed to run low RPM for any speed being traveled. This has gone on for about a year, and now it finally died. I was thinking either plugs or wires, or worse, pressure in one of the valves. Anyone able to help?

Had a similar problem with my 1998 Saturn SL2. Try the ECTS (coolant temp sensor). You can pick it up at Auto Zone for under $11 (Saturn dealerships sell for $23 +). It's located near the trottle control sensor on the driver's side of the block. Saturn quoted me over $275 for parts and labor (2 hours) and over $325 if I also wanted the coollant changed. I decided to do it myself. Took a 13mm socket (extended type) and no more then 10 minutes. Car runs great.
