Alright so it cranks and won't start or no crank no start? If it's no crank no start I would have the battery tested and make sure the battery cable ends are clean and tight. If all that is good you most likely have a bad starter. Do you have a multimeter or test light to do some testing?

It is a no crank nor sound when I turn the key but it doesn't happen all the time. I checked the battery and it is fine.

Alright if you had the battery tested and the cables are clean and tight then the next thing to check is if you have power going thru the clutch switch when it doesn't start. You will need a test light or a multimeter. Underneath your clutch pedal you will see a switch the clutch pedal hits when you push the clutch in. There are two large wires going to it one should be yellow coming off the ignition switch. The other purple going to the starter solenoid. So when it doesn't start make sure the car is in neutral then see if you have power to both those wires with the switch pushed in and the key in the start position. If you do then when it doesn't start you will have to see if you have power to the purple wire on the starter solenoid on the starter with the key in the start position if you do bad starter. My guess is bad starter.
