1994 Saturn SL2 engine hot//transaxle light

My satrun is showing a dummy light that is flashing either overheating or manual transaxle is low on fluid the car is not running hot and the fluid level in the transaxle is within the hash marks could it be thta hte flip cap is not getting a good seal could be causing this whole issue or could the dummy light be defective it only comes on for a few seconds then goes back off and the car seems to be running fine

There is no light to tell you your fluid is low in your manual or automatic transmission. It's most likely that your coolant is low in your coolant bottle causing the light to come on. Go to your coolant bottle see if the level is up to the seam of the bottle if it isn't then top it off to the seam and see if the light goes out. Also is your temp gauge reading your overheating?

The gauge for temp reads fine but the reason I thought it might be the transaxle fluid is that is what was mentioned in the owners manual but also the coolant bottle is full
