Radio shuts off and car shuts off. Hooked up booster pack and car started and stayed running until booster pack died. Removed battery it had 12 volts recharged battery and reinstalled car started. Removed neg battery terminal and car stayed running used multi-meter and alternator is putting out 14.7 volts. Had battery load tested and it failed. Speedometer cut in and out yesterday but car stayed running.

Good morning,

The issue is low voltage.

I would start by replacing the battery. 12 volts is a dead battery. it needs 12.6 volts for systems to work.

Never, never pull off a battery cable while running. first, it does nothing as far as testing. it damages module from voltage surge. you will cause more damage.

You check the charging system with the engine running. it should be 14 to 14.5 volts.

Had the same issue with my Honda Civic, took it to the shop and they said the wiring to the alternator was bad so they replaced the wire. Have not had a problem since!

Thanks for the update. That's part of the testing I suggested.
