Sirs, My 1991 944 S2 fuel gauge is not working it was working fine until mechanic replaced an A/C relay and it quit (coincidence) is there a relay for fuel gauge? He swapped around relays trying to find the right A/C relay? The yellow low fuel light comes on but fuel needle is not working. Also want to tell you that the mechanic on another problem took the fuel sending unit out of the gas tank in the trunk compartment trying to syphon gas. It seems the wires are not loose but don't know. Also I checked the fuse in the box under the hood and it shows good is there another fuse box with a possible blown fuse? Can you help me? Craig

Hello,

It sounds like there is an issue with the fuel sending unit. The sending unit (located inside the fuel tank), provides fuel to the engine as well as fuel level signal to the gauge.
To access the fuel sending unit you will have to remove carpeting from the trunk, there is an access cover that will let you get to the sending unit.
