UNLESS YOU ARE A CERTIFIED GM MECHANIC NO WAY YOU CAN CHANCE THE WATER PUMP ON A 1998 SUNFIRE. IT WILL COST YOU ABOUT $ 1400.00 TO GET THE JOB DONE, THE ENGINE HAS TO BE TORN DOWN TO THE TIMING CHAIN ABOUT A 8 HOUR JOB.

If it is the same as the 2.4 in the cavalier, it will take a lot of time but is not too terribly hard. I just did the cavalier 2.4. I would get a manual and read it first to see if you think you can do it. If so, just follow what you are told to do and take your time.
