2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Blows Cold air

This morning the car never seemed to warm up - in a 12 mile commute the air wouild seem to start get warm and then go to cold again. The temp gauge looked like it was going to over heat.

With engine at operating temp, quickly touch the upper and lower heater core hoses. If one is hot and the other is warm, then heater core is blocked.

Also make sure coolant level is at full mark and no leaks.

Another possibility is diverter valve.
