The transmission on my GTP Sedan requires replacement. I had just purchased a newer car and planned to sell the Grand Prix for $3500 (low end). If I replace the transmission with a used or rebuilt, would it be appropriate to increase the sale price of the car? If so, which one would you recommend and how much could I sell for once replaced?
The repair shop found a used tranmsission with 70k miles and a rebuilt . Trying to recoup some of the costs of repairs.
Thank you.

If the used one has a warranty and they guarantee their work, go with the used one. However, if you get a bad one, the shop will most likely recharge you labor to remove and replace it again.

As far as cost, check KBB. COM for what the vehicle is worth. You don't want to exceed private seller price.
