The car begins to overheat at idle or in traffic for too long. Driving seems to cool it down, but it has to stay moving for it. The AC while in motion works, but at idle or traffic it becomes hot/room temperature.

My initial thought was cooling fan isn't working but considering it can be numerous things I'm at a loss.

Hi,

Your initial thoughts are likely correct. When the vehicle starts to overheat or get warmer than normal, do you notice if the cooling fans turn on?

If you look below, I attached the wiring schematic for the fans. Also, pic 3 shows the fuses and relay to test. When you check the fuses, make sure there is power to them. Here is a link you may find helpful.

As far as the relay is concerned, switch it with a different relay in the box having the same part number. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to test a relay:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
