Good morning,

Temperature sounds good so it is not related to this issue.
When you cycle the switch on the shift knob (to turn the O/D off), do you see a light on the instrument cluster that says O/D Off? And when you press the switch again will that same indicator light go out?

Coolant temperatures should be around 190 degrees typically.

It does show number but temperature gauge has not ever went up past half way. I put card board in front of radiator and still only half it took about twenty to twenty five miles for over drive to kick in.

Okay, so you are saying that the O/D light works correctly when you operate the switch?

Okay thanks for that.

Sorry for so many questions but I have the disadvantage of not being there to see it for myself and it is the best way I know to solve the problem. Have you tried checking the level of the transmission fluid and if so did you notice the color of the fluid? If it was dark, and smelled burnt, it would be time to change the fluid and filter. If it is full then we need to move on to something more involved.

Michael,

Can you comment about the transmission fluid. I advised you to check the level and the color. Can you fill me in on what you found?
