1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM

The steering wheel on my 87 olds cutlass ciera moves up and down and side to side with a lot of excessive play without using the vertical adjustment lever. It looks like the whole column is moving, at least without taking off the lower portion of the dash I havnt had the time to tackle this project yet but I just want to see what it could be. Any ideas?

Hello -

You will definitely need to look up there to see what is going on and soon. It may be loose nuts/bolts.

I have attached a pic for you. Check this area. This is the column support bracket.
