1998 Oldsmobile Ciera 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my car one has a high idle and cant figure out why. The main problem now though is when I drive it will just die on me and I let it sit and it starts right back up. Has been ongoing for a week now and cant figure out why. Someone said it migh be my fuel pump but I can hear it prime when I turn the key.

Has the check engine light come on? Also, even though you hear the pump, it may not be able to keep up with the demand. Here is a how to for checking fuel pump pressure:
