Hello, I have a 1995 Nissan Sentra w/170,000 miles on it. I'm not sure of engine size because i dont know how to check. My problem is this, at first the car was fine then one day i left the lights on and the battery went dead. I got a jump and everything was fine for a few days. Next the car kept cutting off. if i'm at a light or going in reverse it cuts off. Now the car doesn't start at all. I brought a brand new battery and still it doesn't start. It sounds like it's ready to start but it doesn't. no clicking or anything just the sound a car makes right before it starts and nothing. people have said it could be the starter but i want to make sure. I dont have a hand held code scanner and i cant get it to a mech.

Please Help.

so your saying the car will crank/attempt to start it just wont turn over/fire up and run.

if it will crank then its not the starter, and you should in return check for spark and fuel pressure.

if it doesnt crank, then i would have the starter tested and loock for loose/corroded connectors.
