An small oil leak started 4 months ago and got progressively worse to no longer driveable. It's near the front wheel on passenger side. Appears to come from right side engine but not easy access to see/check due to belts/parts and area is recessed. One mechanic said the motor would have to be pulled to repair it. Another said it might be the front seal and motor would not have to be pulled. Cost to pull engine is prohibitive. Any suggestions?

If you have no access to a lift, jack the passenger side up, take off the wheel, remove the wheel well cover, and you can see almost the entire front of the engine (meaning the crank side). And no, the engine does not have to be pulled out. The only time that you need to pull the motor out of a B13 and B14 (91-99 Sentra) is when you are replacing the entire engine.

Back to your problem, I suspect it is the front main seal.
