1990 Nissan 300ZX 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

when I turn on the car and put it in drive it throws the first gear but after that it works fine and also it only happens when the car its cold, also when the car is cold it makes this grrrrr noise also in the first gear what do you think it might be? Is it something serous? Would I need a new transmission?

Hi there,

I would be getting this checked asap as any odd grinding noise coming from the transmission is not normal and could cost plenty if let to develop into a serious fault.
