Engine Cooling problem
2002 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I suspect that a coolant leak is due to a bad heater hose. Under the hood I notice that they have various 90 degree bends in them. When I go to Autozone online to look up replacements, I notice they are either straight or with one 90 degree bend. Do I need to look elsewhere for pre-fashioned heater hoses?

Hi nrh_123,

Online diagrams are mostly for illustrations only and might not indicate the correct design.

For hoses, the best way to go about when you are not sure, is to bring along the old part for comparison when purchasing it from the store.

The culprit was a small, hooked-shaped hose that connects to the throttle body. Had to go to the dealership for it. Around $16.
