I bought a car last week and it wasn't running. I towed it at home and began looking at it, and realized the battery cable were backward. But I fixed it up, and now the car works, but some electronic componenets aren't working such as the Radio, Interior Lights, OBDII connector and others. I am thinking its the computer, but wouldn't if the computer was bad, the whole car would be bad and not start or can it still start with a bad computer?

Battery polarity reversed-could mean a blown fusible link/s and miniature fuses inspect/test all of them

I have an eclipse as well, the village idiot switched the polarity on the battery terminals and fried the alternator and the ac heat and other things. I have heard that it is the fuses and fuseable links but there is another posibility that there is further damage in the pcm because on certain years of Mitsubish Eclipse there something to protect aginst voltage spikes but depending on where it is located in the circuit there may be a chance that it would not protect the computer if the polarity was reversed.
