I have a problem with my shift linkage. Since I got this car the shift arm has been very lose, when you shift out of park it would jump to drive and would have to then backup through neutral to reverse, last week it started not shifting into Park, and just yesterday when I shifted into drive something snapped and it won't shift at all and is stuck in drive. Since I cannot get to neutral or park I can no longer start the car.
Where would I look for the shift linkage? Or what other ideas do you have?

Hi dlmartin53,

Thank you for the donation.

First thing that you shold check is the linkage at the transmission. Get someone to push the gear shift while you look at the manual leve position located at trans.

The linkage and manual lever should move when the gear shift is being shifted.

If they do not move, the you would have to check the linkage from gear shift from interior of vehicle.
