Dear Auto Expert,

Make: Mercedes Benz
Model: ML320
Year: 2000
Mileage: 42000

Recently this car's engin turns off (or die) while the car is slowing down (close to stop) at stop signs. No shaking or rattle noise at all and the engin seems very quiet while runnig. Check-engine and all other warning lights are off.

Spark plugs (12) and air filter has been replaced in trying to solve the problem but no avail. The car has been well maitained and battery seems still strong (2 years old).

Thanks for any hint to solve this problem.

The engine stalling while decelerating is usually a sign of a failing EGR valve, its connections, wiring, or an EGR related sensor. It could also be that it is stuck open and needs to be cleaned along with its port.

Good luck and let us know what you find. :)
