Had truck in 4wheel low, Stopped truck and put in neutral press dash button to disengage. Both 4 wheel indcator lights went out(on dash and buttons) and no 4 wheel high. Turned off engine and restarted 4x4 light came back on (on button not on dash) but no 4 wheel drive and light on button stays on but no indicator light on dash. Whats the problem had no trouble before going up and back down hill with light snow on it

There is a acuator motor on the transfer case that sends status back to the eec. I think that you have a bad Acuator motor. I have disassemble them in the past and rebuilt them and they work for a yrs and need to be cleaned and rebuilt again. Simple to take off and fix it on the bench. I also live in a heavy snow area too.
