Electrical problem
2000 Mazda Truck 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I went for inspection and the man told me that when they hooked up my vehicle to the computer it didn't read anything. They said the OBD II was not functioning. They recommended that I take it to Advance and I did and they couldn't get anything either. I looked online and didn't find anything there. Can you think of anything I can do to check this out. I am out of work and can't go to the dealership.

HI there,

Just check that the engine check light is on with the key on and engine off, if not check that the bulb is not blown, some diatonic systems require this circuit to operate before any communication between scanner & ECU can take place, check this out first.

Mhpautos,

I did what you said and checked the engine light to see if it comes on when the key is turned on but not the ignition. It did. Any more suggestions? Thanks!
