Loud humming noise while driving

Today I was driving my car and suddenly I heard a loud hum for about three seconds and the sound went away. Now the sound is constant. It give off this loud hum noise for three seconds and goes away. It happens about every five minutes of driving. The sound is coming from the front end of the car.

Hello,

It sounds like it could be your air conditioner compressor. Can you turn the AC off to see if it still makes the noise? Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise, that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. That way I can know for sure. Cheers, Ken
