I’ve been having a problem with intermittent hard shifting. I saw you answered someone saying it was probably a line pressure solenoid. But to verify by getting a P1811 code, I’ve tried to scan my car with a $20.00 obd II scanner from Walmart. With the service light on but no codes popped up at all my guess is just my scanners not good enough to read the codes stored. What scanner do you recommend that would be pretty cheap and affordable?

Most people use an Autel scanner that can read OBD 2 and ABS/ORC systems. Also, Alldata has one that is pretty good as well. Here is a guide that covers that one:

Also, you can stop by a parts store and ask they scan the vehicle as most do it free of charge however, some are starting to charge unless you buy a part from them so just be aware of that.

if the light is on, then we should have codes so we need to start with getting the codes and go from there. Thanks
