I have a 2000 Lincoln Town car with 114,000 miles. Few months ago, when I started it up in the morning, the car wouldn't stay running so I kept the foot on the gas pedal. After approx 5 minutes of running the engine at higher RPM, the car stayed running at idle. Now, the car wouldn't stay running at idle speed at all even after warming up the engine.

Check the Idle Air Control motor. They become clogged with carbon, causing it to stick. Seems to be a common problem. These guides should help us fix it.

Please run down these guides and report back.
