2000 Lincoln Town Car Rough Idle

A few days ago, I tried to start my car and it tried to turn over and wouldnt. I tried again and got the dreaded clicking from the starter. I tried to start it again today and it started a little slow but was able to get it to turn over. I was going to try to go to the gas station to fill up seeing that I only have 7 miles left till empty. I put the car in reverse and got a rough feeling. When put in park, I got the rough idle. This just happened when I started it up today. I was hoping it was because I am low on gas. Could someone please give me a list of what the issue could be? Thanks.

Have your battery checked for condition including load test auto parts do this for free

Can you explain how the battery condition efftects the rough idle?

Well if the battery is low it could effect the drivability of the car due to not having enough power and screwing up the computer but have it scanned and fuel pressure checked with a gauge to be on the safe side. Forgot and only answered half question.
