stalling

Just bought 2000 es300. It sometimes starts and then stalls out immediately. You can usually pump the gas petal to keep it going. If you keep the rpm above 1500 for a minute or so it seems to correct itself and idles fine. But you also get a slight gas order while you're driving. This has happened about 5 times over a 5 week period. Today it wouldn't restart. Will try again later. Any ideas. Can Toyota dealer fix this?

This sounds like a couple issues so let's start by checking the idle air control.

The next likely thing is the fuel pump is failing. So, let's check the pressure when this is happening.
