Thanks in advance for your help! Here is the situation with my A/C. I have had some issues, and finally took it to Big O tires. They evacuated and refilled to specs. No leaks all working fine. Now I have this issue and would like to know what is happening: On hot afternoons:

During a drive, works fine.

Return home and idle in driveway, works fine. (Tested for three minutes)

Turn off A/C, wait ten seconds and turn back on.

Here one sound (compressor), then fan on back of radiator engages.

Fan only stays on two seconds then turns off.

A few seconds later, compressor engages, fan engages, both shutoff after a few seconds.

This continues.

Take the car for a drive and it starts to work. Compressor and fan engage and stay on.

After five minutes come back to idle and it works okay again in idle until you turn A/C off and then back on. This throws it back into the cycle of compressor and fan not staying engaged.
