HI,
Yesterday when I started driving, my car's check engine light lit up. Then my car didnt accelerate enough when I pressed my foot on the accelerator. This is happening intermittently. The car shakes a little bit when I try to accelerate but does not go fast enough. It never happened before. What could be the problem? When I took my car to firestone they said it might be a transmission problem. Is it time to replace the whole transmission or this could be another problem? Does 2002 hyundai sonata usually have this problem at this mileage?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

We need to do this diagnoses step by step so the first thing that you need to do is get a scan done and post the set fault codes indicated by the check light, these will indicate the problem and we can start suggesting a suitable course of action for you.
