We have had our car to the dealership, for 6 diagnosis or "repairs" for our "check engine light" , and now the latest diagnosis says "purge valve". What exactly is a purge valve, and is it related to a sensor? All other repairs were for one of the 50 to 70 sensors,(or thats what we were told.! ) Hyundai headquarters tells us that if we have this latest job done, they will try to do "something for us. They did reimburse us for one repair (that worked for about a month), and we still have to pay for the last repair for $302.10 . What do you suggest?

I owned a 2003 Sonata and my advice is no matter what they tell you, GET RID of Hyundai, they still do not manufacture a car worth American money! Mine needed a complete lower end, and I could not get them to listen to me! Finallt I got the Hyundai rep into it and I goit the new lower end...Hyundai's montra....let the warrantee run out! The Purge valve is for the evaporative emissions, it vents fuel vapors to a charcoal cannister...Buy a new FORD!
