i have a 1997 Honda Civic EX with over 160,000 miles to its 4 cylinder 1.6 engine and manual transmission. recently my car suffered a damage to the front driver side. After i tried to drive my car from a dead stop it started to make a grinding sound. It only makes this noise when i let go of the clutch and accelerate. It doesnt make the sound when i start the car or when i accelerate with the clutch pressed in. I replaced my axle thinking that was the problem, but it didnt fix anything. what can it be?

Given the age of the vehicle and the possible impact I would look at the heat shields on the exhaust system. Look for one that is loose. Any movement and I would find a way to tighten it or secure it.
