1998 Honda Civic Car is overheating. But not all the way

Lately, my civic has been overheating but not all the way to the red. When driving for a bit, the car starts overheating and after 5-10 seconds, it just comes back to normal. This occurs every 5-10 minutes. It also seems that it is losing coolant. However, I don't see any leaks. I added more, but it still does this. Thanks for the help!

Check your headgasket, do this buy filling the radiator full up to the top with the cap off and keep filling till it stops going down, then start the vehicle if little or big bubbles keep appearing you have a defective headgasket.

If not check your water pump, thermostat, igniiton timing, and flush the cooling system.
