Engine Cooling problem
1998 Honda Civic 4 cyl Manual 190000 miles

I was going up a huge hill and my heater hose bursted, recently putting too much pepper to stop a radiator leak, I assumed that there was a clog, so I had the hose replaced AND then my temperature gauge was NOT working at all, it kept reading cold. Then I only drove 2miles to my house then the hose came off and coolant everywhere. What is going on?

HI there,

Was the hose clamp tightened securely? I would be checking the condition of all hoses, replacing any suspect hard or cracked hoses. Replace the thermostat, radiator cap and get the radiator cleaned and flow tested, flush the cooling system and replace the coolant, bleed all air from the system and check for leaks.
