Honda Accord check engine light is on

1992 Honda Accord Ex, 150,000 miles, manual, 4cyl.. Check engine light is on and has been on since I bought it. Mechanic says it needs a new oxygen sensor. Could that be true?

Maybe it is the mood and maybe it is because it is Monday, but give me a break. The mechanic got to see the vehicle, touch the vehicle, etc. If we knew the code we could help you. What it comes down to is you trusting the mechanic or not. Please don't ask me to contradict what he says when I have no information.
