While driving the rpm's are running consistently higher than normal, 3,000 at 60 mph (factory should be 2,200) they do not fluctuate just running high, it is consistent with steady speed increases (not flooring it) they are running steadily higher through speed changes (it idles normal). Did have a local mechanic say to have the transmission solenoid checked. Just trying all possibilities.

Good morning,

It does sounds like the transmission is not working correctly.

Is the check engine light on? if it is, it will help lead to the reason you have this issue.

Is the overdrive light flashing or on? that would indicate an issue with the torque converter operation.

When was the last time you had the fluid/filter changed in the transmission?

The check engine light is not on. The overdrive light has not been on. Have not had any trouble with indicator lights while having this issue. The transmission fluid and filter was changed at 190,000 miles.

Do not know if this also would be a concern, but I did only put about 1,000 miles on it (just enough to keep it running) for two years and up until that I was not having any issue, now I am driving it daily.

Okay, thanks,

I would still change the oil/filter in the transmission as the lack of driving could varnish the valves.
