I have been having problems with my Yukon dyeing when you turn or when you put it
in to reverse. It has a rough idle sitting still about 500 and below.
i have thought that it was the fuel pump until yesterday. We were coming home from a 2 hour
trip and all of the lights on the inside panel started flashing. The gages started jumping up to 80 then
to 0 same with gas full then to empty, battery up and down also. Air bag lights on and off ect.
this happened off and on for about 30-45 min. Coming up to a red light I had to keep the idol up on the truck so it would stay running. It would have died if I didn't keep the idol up. When we got home the truck died in the driveway.
i tired to start it and no luck battery dead. I guess my question here is can an alternator make your truck fill like the fuel pump is going out? And is this my problem, the alternator? Rough idol, dyeing, fading lights. Ect.

Please I need help! This is my wifes truck and she starts a job on monday. (Ouch)?

Thanks in advance

ANSWER:

HAD ALTERNATER TESTED. BAD. REPLACED WITH REBUILT LIFETIME WARENTED ONE FROM ORILEY'S. BUT IT STILL DIDANT GET RID OF THE HESITATION, LOW IDLE AND DYEING WHEN TURNING OR HARD BRAKING. SO I DID SOME RESURCH ON GOOGLE, COME TO FIND OUT THAT GM THRODLE BODIES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BUILD UP IN THE 4" OPENING. I GOT SOME THRODLE BODIE CLEANER/ CARB CLEANER, SPRAYED IT ON THERE AND WIPED IT CLEAN WITH A CLOTH, MADE SURE TO GET RID OF ALL OF THE DEPOSIT IN THE SEAT RIGHT BEHIND WHERE THE FLAP OPENS UP. CRANKED UP THE TRUCK AND IT RAN LIKE NEW. IF YOUR HAVING PROBLEMS LIKE THIS TRY CLEANING OUT THE T.B. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE. I HAD SEVERAL MECHANICS TELL ME IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT. I SAVED MY SELF ABOUT 1000 BUCKS. ALTERNATOR: $125.00, CARB CLEANER $3.79
