My radio randomly stops playing and sometimes I can turn it directly off and back on and it works again and sometimes I have to turn the engine off for a while and it will start working again. I have changed the radio with another radio that was working properly out of a 2002 Chevy truck it stopped making sound also but both radios worked properly when in the 2002 Chevy truck. When the radios stopped working the only thing that happened was the sound would not work.

More than likely this is an amp issue. These radios that use an amp will not produce any sound if the amp fails.

Basically, you have confirmed this not a radio issue is we need to go to the amp and check for power coming out of the relay that controls this amp.
