Sometimes feels like it is going to stall?

My Ford Windstar van sometimes feels like it is going to stall whenever the car is stopped. It failed emissions because it was running lean. The RPM needle bobs up and down when it feels like it is stalling. I replaced the rear o2 sensor, should I replace the fronts too or could it be an entirely different problem?

Hello,

There could several reasons why the engine is running rough.
Many times with drivability issues the check engine light get triggered.
Is your engine light illuminated?
If so getting the vehicle scanned for trouble codes can help with the diagnostics.

Few items you can check make sure they are in good condition.
Check the mass air flow sensor, if it is dirty it can impact the way the vehicle idles. You can clean out that sensor.

Also if you have a dirty idle air control valve it can negatively impact the idle as well.
Larger air particles will get stuck inside the vale and restrict air flow, causing the idle to fluctuate or drop.
The idle air control valve can also be cleaned to restore performance.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
