It takes 30 sec. Or more to start. Then when it does try to start it chokes coughs and sputters. Then picks up & goes. The mechanics I had looking at it said it was the fuel damptner/ fuel regulater. It cost me $398.00 to buy & $150.00 to have it put on. It still didn't fix it. They said that the fuel pressure was good & they were stumped. There is no check engine light. If I cycle the key 3 or 4 times, it starts easyer. I don't have any money right now. Could you help PLEASE? Thak you.

I have already ran several cans of SEAFOAM through the fuel system. It helps with fuel mileage but not with start up. I had already had cleaned the mass air flow sensor.I have also replaced the fuel filter. And yes I can hear the fuel pump run for about 3 sec. Sorry about getting back to you so late, but I'm in the military & I am gone quite abit & so I don't have a lot of time to work on my own veh. In march of 2008 I had problems with the cooling system. I had to replace the cooling sensor for the computer & the thermastat. Could this have anything to do with it? If not, any other ideas?
