About a week after I got it I noticed it was shifting rather violently into second gear. Since it is under a dealer warranty I had them look at it and they told me they put a rebuilt transmission in it because two bands were broken inside the transmission. Well it shifts a little better but still still pretty hard into second gear; definitely not like it should be. What could be the problem if they put a rebuilt transmission in it?

Hi flyincasual,

If the rebuilt trans had been done well, it should be ok, but the original trans had it, so it could be a production defect.

It could be adjustments are out and if it is electronically controlled, some sensors might be faulty.

Send the car back to the dealer, problem is similar to original and it might give way as well.
