starter stopped working and would only make clicking sound. Put new starter in and it still only clicks. Check old starter by using the bench method it seemed to work fine. What maybe the cause? Jumped the clutch switch and it didn't make any difference.

Could be bad ignition switch, what happens when you jumper starter solenoid while on vehicle?

I have tried that it makes no difference still justs clicks.

Test starter relay, its on the fender panel near battery.
