1985 Ford Ranger Repair Question

Starter
Engine Mechanical problem
1985 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles
i put a new starter in check the battery the fly whell is fine but the starter just spins and i took it out put back in checked all trhe teeth it was fine if i pull on the belts in moves the gear inside the starter and it will act like it will start but it still does not start

check with the part store if they gave you the correct unit
check the flywheel try to spin the fly wheel and look if the engine spin and check for a play in the fly wheel

well iknow its the right starter i shimed it and know its liked a loud grinding almost i guess when you turn it over

we ran to the same problem and it was the wrong starter
it will bolt on with no problem but will not make a contact with the fly wheel
