1972 Other Ford Models stalling under load
1972 Other Ford Models V8
I have a '72 Ford 351W, dual points, Holly 4bbl that stalls under load. It will also stall if idling for several minutes.
Plugs, wires, points, condenser are new, rotor and cap almost new. Carb was rebuilt last year by shop. Starts fine, runs well once going, but have to goose the throttle (engaging accel pump??) to get moving.
Where do I start?

check your breaker plate inside the distributor. those used to wear at the pivot point and cause your problem. Also where the vacuum advance connector to the same breaker point wears as well. You don't need to pull the distributor out to look at that but the points will and the plate. Also check for vacuum leaks...
