FORD TELSTAR 1988 2L. From a cold start, never a problem. BUT When car hot -. E.G. Drive one hour, then stop car for short time. Then starts again ok but engine dies about 50 metres down the road. Continual problem on and off for 2 years. Starts by spraying fuel starter into carburetor. This would then fire things along for a while - a few weeks or even months when not hot weather.
NOW problem is escalating. As well as above, is now also breaking down while idling(traffic lights) or driving in very slow traffic(when not using much revs). 4 times in one day yesterday.
Different mechanics are suggesting different things - fuel pump, carburettor, distributor(been replaced 2nd hand though) but no one really knows! HELP PLEASE IF YOU CAN!

Get the fuel system check from the fuel pump all the way to the injector/s. The check should include the the regulator with and w/o vacuum.
