Hello!

The AC compressor on my 3.8L V6 1998 Ford Mustang stopped coming on when I turn on the "AC" switch.

Note: the car has about 120,000 miles on it.

I took it to a mechanic who applied power directly to the compressor, forcing it to come on.

The refrigerant level appears to be ok.

I was thinking it could be the AC compressor clutch fuse or maybe the AC compressor relay in the CCRM (constant control relay module).

Before checking the CCRM, where can I find the AC compressor clutch fuse?

Thanks!

- Dave

update: after more research I'm thinking it might be the switch on the accumulator. I've read about jumpering the switch with a paperclip to test (briefly) to see if compressor kicks in. Not sure if accumulator switch is what they mean.

lets start with the mechanic, did he put juice right to the ac lead going into the compressor? didconnect the lead going into the compressor. with a test light see if you are getting any juice going to the compressor. check by using the climate control inside the car. with it placed on defrost the light should come on. If you do not have juice going to the compressor at all

try jumping it at the pressure cutoff switch and the clutch cycling pressure switch. NOTE: this diagram is for reference only and are not the actual one for your car. I will look up the correct one. if you have no juice to the switches then we will look at the fuses and controls
