F150 V8 spark plug coils - unusual for multiple to go??
We have a 2000 Ford f150 which has had 3 coils go bad in the last year. First, is this unusual, and 2nd, is this something a novice could replace himself? Require special tool?

It is easy to do with normal tools and not uncomon for more than one to fail. DON'T buy Zone or discount coils or you will continue to suffer the same problem.
Have someone check the voltage output of the alternator (across the battery). If it is over 14.7 volts it could cause coil failure.
