Heater problem
2003 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 50k miles

I just replaced the heater core but the bad smell is still coming when I turn the heater on. The temp setting doesn't matter.

Can you describe the smell? And have you replaced the heater core due to leakage?

I replaced the heater core and the thermistat so that's all fine now. The smell is a antifreeze smell and I figure that the leaked out fluid was despearsed through out the air ducts by the fan. I only cleaned the core box. I would like to know a remedy to remove the smell coming from the left over antifreeze in the ducts.
I have removed the heater fan resistor and sprayed deoderizer into the hole. It helped some but it still smells. The only thing I can think to do is spray more. Any help would be great. Thank you, Dennis

Hot water and bleach in a spray bottle. Spray that in the vents should clean the smell right up!

Also if you have a cabin air filter check that.
