I have a 1996 ford f150 with 202,000 miles on it.I am going nuts trying to figure this out. I work off and the last time I was home my old truck my Dad left me fired, but was getting no fuel. I got it to run for a few seconds an carbuerator cleaner. This time home it stopped firing too. I jumped a wire from the battery straight to the selector switch in the cab and both fuel pumps worked this way. I've replaced the coil, the distibuter cap, and the rotor button. The truck sat up for about 5 months not used and now then the trouble started. Could this be the computer? I'm at a loss.

Are you getting any spark? Fuel pressure? Have you checked the EEC relay?

No, I don't have fuel pressure. The pumps don't kick on unless the are jumped manually off the battery. Plus, I have no fire at the plugs.

First, sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I lost my father this week and things have been.

Have you tried switching out the EEC relay?

Very sorry to hear about your Dad. I sincerley feel yor pain. You see, every day I come home and see his old truck in the drive way, I say to myself, " Dad's here", like a little kid or something. You have my heart felt condolences.
Yes, I swapped around all the relays like 4 or 5 time and got no where. I'm gonna go test the ignition mudule. I've been told this may be the problem. I was told when it goes bad it shuts down the fuel and fire as a safety precaution. Is this correct?

Well, I lost my Dad back in January of '06. I still feel like I just saw him yesterday though. All I can say is it does get better.
Ok, I tested the ignition module and it passed. I put everything back together and still no fire and no fuel.

The only thing I can think of is the ASD (auto shut down) or the PCM has fried. I have been looking for the ASD's location, but haven't found it. I will keep looking.
